This workshop would be suitable for anyone wishing to advance their Beauty Therapy skills to include paramedical advanced chemical peels. We have designed an intense 3 day practical hands on workshop with extensive hands-on training, in the application of chemical peels. Adding physician strength chemical peels to your practice enables you to offer clients a wider variety and choice of treatments. Chemical peels are one of the top 5 nonsurgical skincare treatments performed throughout the country and work as a complimentary treatment alongside some cosmetic laser services. This workshop gives you the opportunity to treat a wider variety of clientele’s skincare concerns and earn more income! The course runs over 3 days once a week for 3 weeks and can be delivered on weekdays or weekends to suit as required.

This course is designed to teach you the theory, practical application, safety protocols and patient aftercare (pitfalls, problems and how to correct). Chemical peel techniques, skin anatomy, patient selection, contraindication, treatment of complication, combining treatments and real world advice from practicing instructor. Skin preparation for chemical resurfacing. Type of chemical peel (TCA, Jessner, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Alpha-Hydroxy Acid, Phenol, Lactic Acid, Resorcinol) Live demonstration and intensive hands on instruction.

Course Prerequisites
Sound level of Beauty Therapy at a Certificate IV Level or above, or be a registered nurse with a sound knowledge of skin biology to enrol in this course.

Course Content:

  • Basic skin anatomy
  • Proper procedures and protocols for skin preparation prior to chemical peeling to decrease complications such as pigmentation, scarring and infection
  • In clinical and aesthetic medical procedures
  • Agents such as Trichloro Acetic Acid (TCA), Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid (BHA), Phenol, Jessner, and various Alpha Hydroxy Acids are part of the curriculum
  • Complications and contraindications
  • Treatment of ethnic skin types

Cost $1650 and everything required to complete the course will be provided to you. There is a $250 nonrefundable deposit to secure your spot in to course and payment plans are available for the balance and can be spread over the 3 weeks you are attending. On completion of the Advanced Skin Workshop students will receive a Statement of Participation.
